Golf Week Architecture Editor Brad Klein states that Fazio has "perfected a certain formula for creating overwhelming, lovely holes that are meticulously manicured and pleasant to play." Living up to such praise, Fazio's Barefoot Resort Course is certain to attract more national acclaim. Off the tees, players will be greeted with stunning visuals and 18 distinct holes that will all be remembered after your round.

Experience the Pinnacle of Golf Design: The Barefoot Fazio

Barefoot Resort is home to four premium layouts and for many, The Fazio Course is the property’s best. Acclaimed architect Tom Fazio’s namesake design at Barefoot has been ranked among America’s top 100 public courses by Golf Digest and it has absolutely earned the acclaim.

The layout, which doesn’t turn at the clubhouse, plays through live oaks, pine trees, rolling terrain and native areas. It was an idyllic piece of property for an architect of Fazio’s stature, and he took full advantage of the opportunity.

On a par-71 layout that plays 6,350 yards from the black tees (the course’s most commonly played), driving the ball well is vital to success, especially on the par-4 5th hole, which is arguably the area’s toughest test.

The 5th hole plays a whopping 467 yards from the black tees and there is challenge beyond the length. Water threatens on the tee shot and a large bunker fronts the elevated green.

Any golfer that makes par on No. 5 should circle the score like it was a birdie.

The challenge on The Barefoot Fazio Course is substantial but it’s a treat to play. The layout is always in outstanding condition, there are no houses, and the test is a straightforward one. Golfers who play well are rewarded.

Barefoot was named "North American Golf Resort of the Year” by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, and The Barefoot Fazio Course was a significant reason why. The course, which has been ranked among the best in South Carolina by Golf Magazine and Golfweek, hosted the championship match of the hit Golf Channel show "Big Break: Myrtle Beach,” and it has challenged players on the Canadian Tour.

This is a layout worthy of anchoring your next Myrtle Beach golf trip.
