On my very first date with the woman who would later become my wife, I visited Brookgreen Gardens, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
It was in early July, that we walked the gardens, read the poetry, saw the splendor of what GOD and man had co-created.
I can not say that my beauty won my wife's heart that day, but I am certain the beauty of that place will remain with both of us for as long as we live.

Our family grew up near this 300-acre parcel in the heart of a 9100-acre preserve along the South Carolina coast. My own ancestors first came to this area in 1768 just before the original plantation was built. The beauty of the area has kept us here for over 230 years.
